Christ—The North Star

Leaves on Aspens turn to shades of yellow then tumble to the ground.
Rivers are constantly flowing and shifting course.
The sky holds grey clouds or collects sunshine to scatter to the earth.
Cars speed down freeways and people bustle along doing their daily tasks.
The world doesn't stop spinning.

Children grow up and leave the house.
Friends enter and exit our lives.
Relationships with the people we love the most are altered with time.
 People change.
We change.
Our ideals, our perspectives, our views, our lives—all change.
 Life is change.

Through all this change, one thing stays the same—the North Star.
While all other stars turn with rotation of the earth, this one is firm, undaunted.

Christ is my North Star.
He will never change, and neither will His love, which is unfailing.
Like the North Star, His light never stops shining, it never moves.
As the stars guide seafaring men, so Christ guides me.
I look to Him as a compass, as a constant, when everything else in life is changing.
He will always stand with open arms to comfort, uplift, and strengthen me.
He is steadfast.
He is faithful and unchanging.
He is my Lord and my light, my friend and my Savior.
Through every change, He faithful will remain.
After the world stops spinning, His love will still abide.

For eternity, He will be my guide.
